It brings to life the history of the women's movement in the U.S. With essays by Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist Anna Quindlen, inspirational Oprah Book Club author Edwidge Danticat, and co-written by Emmy Award-winning writer Louise Gikow, the book vividly depicts the struggles and victories of American women.

Including bold graphics, three dimensional pop-ups and replicas of essential historical documents, Women: A Celebration of Strength sets the tone of the women's movement from the first women's rights convention in Seneca Falls in 1848 to the election of the first woman Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives in 2007. The book honors the milestones and achievements of women in sports, science, politics, business, the military and more, and takes a candid look at the issues that still affect women and their families today -- health care, domestic violence, education, and workplace equality.

Women: A Celebration of Strength is a fact-filled, boldly designed interactive book with surprises on every page, including our nation's most important documents on women's history.

By exploring women's experiences in art, culture, sports, careers and politics, the book presents the challenges and celebrates the achievements of all women-from your local hero to those in the national spotlight. Flipping through the book is like walking through an interactive museum exhibit with hands-on features that make the issues of the past and present come alive.

The idea behind the book's creation is twofold: to encourage us (and our children) to learn from these brave women's example and to help Legal Momentum continue their legacy. All proceeds from this book support Legal Momentum and help to achieve its goals of advancing women's rights in the 21st century.
