DELL WILLIAMS, A FOUNDER OF VFA COMMENTS ON Ellen Snortland's NOW THAT SHE'S GONE!

Every woman in the audience leapt to her feet shouting brava, brava, brava as the curtain came down on " Now That's She's Gone", a play written and performed by Ellen Snortland about life with her mother. As if by signal the women seemed to identify so strongly with Ellen that they relived their experiences with their own mothers. This was certainly true for me and I am sure it hit home with many other women in varied degrees. The heartfelt appeal of this play is how well it speaks to mother-daughter relationships in general.(Ellen Snortland pictured left)

This wonderful playwright also gave a performance that touched our hearts and souls."Now That She's Gone" should not only be on Broadway,it should get an award for the best play of the year, become a movie and win all the Oscars!

I am reminded of Dr. Christiane Northrup's marvelous book
"MOTHER-DAUGHTER WISDOM," which made me so much more aware of the dynamics of the mother-daughter relationship and the enormous impact mothers have on their daughters. I highly recommend this book, as well as Dr. Northrup's " WOMEN'S BODIES, WOMEN'S WISDOM: Creating Physical and Emotional Health and Healing."

Gift yourself of this brilliant woman's wisdom and intense concern for women's physical and emotional health. I nominate Dr. Northrop for VFA's medal of honor when we celebrate women in the health field.
